Why Huntsville?

Huntsville, Alabama is a smart place to live, work and play. With a metro population of just over 376,000 and growing, Huntsville is one of the premier mid-size cities in the south. With a heritage rich in science and technology, the Rocket City boasts the highest population per capita of degreed engineers in the country. Huntsville is not "just a city for families." The size of the city, coupled with a low unemployment rate, make it an ideal place to begin and establish a career.

Residents have an active lifestyle. If you can think about doing it, our city has it. Nestled in the rolling foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, the natural beauty of the Huntsville area contains unlimited opportunities for hiking, biking, golfing, outdoor exploration and water sports on the Tennessee River. The mild climate allows for outdoor enjoyment throughout much of the year with Monte Sano Mountain State Park providing a unique outlet for recreational opportunities.

If outdoor adventures are not your thing, Huntsville has an evolving nightlife and there are plenty of places to frequent. Downtown Huntsville offers fine dining, shopping and local nightspots and is located conveniently off of Interstate 565.

In early 2007, Sperling's Best Places rated Huntsville as one of the country's top 10 cities for job growth and affordability. The low cost of living makes home ownership for young professionals an attainable goal. After all, the money that you will save on cost of living allows for more opportunities to have fun.
